SkyWire Video support for BREW and Nextel GPS
ASTA announces support for BREW devices for SkyWire Video. By
supporting BREW, video can be streamed to popular wireless providers
such as Verizon and Cellular One.
SkyWire Video already supports Java Enabled Cell phones via J2ME
as well as Windows Mobile Phones via PocketPC 2003 Mobile Edition with
MPEG4 and SMS Integration.
Nextel GPS enabled Phones will also be supported allowing for Nextel
GPS enabled phones to push location information to remote SkyWire Video
Servers which can then use SkyWire GIS Mapping Servers to generate Maps
for one ore more remote clients. Maps can be streamed to any SkyWire
Video Clients including Browser, Win32, PocketPC view MPEG4, PocketPC
Mobile Edition and J2ME and Brew Clients.
This supplementes the SkyWire Video GPS Appliance that can capture
Video and transmit GPS Information via 802.11b or CDMA wireless
networks.
The SkyWire Video GPS Appliance has been used in military trials and aboard UAV's to transmit live video and GPS information.
